TSD Rally This Weekend.

Hi Car Enthusiasts.

If you happen to be in Southern California this weekend and want something fun to do with your car, then I have a viable solution.

Santa Monica Sports Car Club, SMSCC, is putting on two rallies this weekend. Their usual 1st Friday Nighter rally which happens the 1st Friday of every month. This has been going on for years, and is one of the few things you can still count on in today’s world.

Here is the bonus. Your weekend membership to the SCCA for running this rally can be used Saturday too. Saturday’s rally is called the Citrus Blossom Special. I ran this rally last year and had a great time. The foothills north west of Los Angeles are the game board for this rally, and there are a lot of great roads to enjoy.

So come out this weekend and enjoy the great weather, the great roads, great friends, challenging puzzles, and the absence of the stress of the rest of the world for a few hours.

These two rallies presented by:

Get Ready for a Great Road Rally!

no comment Posted by David

Well gang, my friend Justin Murphy, has done it again. He has combined strategy and awesome roads to make another great Road Rally. I was fortunate enough to run checkout this last weekend for the rally.

The rally starts in San Luis Obispo and ends in Paso Robles. In normal times this is at most a 1 hour drive. Yet Justin found a way to take 8 hours to get there.

Being the motorcycle fan Justin is, he has found some roads that will test the spiritedness of your vehicle and the ability of your navigator to keep lunch down. (Remember Navigators, DO NOT TRY READING WHILE ON A CURVY ROAD!)

I do not want to spoil the fun, but believe me; the roads are great, the map based puzzles are mind challenging, and a whole lot of fun can be had!

Here is the greatest part, If your vehicle has at least one newbie in attendance, the rally is free to enter! Otherwise it is $25.00. Less than the price of two movie tickets and popcorn.

So, mark it on your calendar to be at the Graduate Restaurant in San Luis Obispo this coming Saturday the 12th of April 2008.

If you are new to road rallying, there will be a beginners class at 10:30, be there by 10:15 to sign up.

If you are experienced, we suggest a 11:30 arrival time for a 1:00pm start.

Come enjoy your car and great friendship.

Just Announced- 9 Hour Monte Carlo Rally - April 12th, 2008

no comment Posted by David

Ok, Just got my early spring rally update e-mail.

Looks like on of my favorite rally masters, Justin Murphy has come up with a great spring rally. Knowing Justin the fun roads will abound.

I was lucky enough to fly above his area of the world yesterday, and while going over the mountains behind San Luis Obispo, looking from above was truly breathtaking with all of the spring colors. Our past rains really helped, everything is in bloom.

Mark your calendars for April 12th. Even with the price of gas today, you can’t get this much fun for your buck anywhere!!!

Follow this link to get a flyer for the event:

Thanks

See you out there,

David
