A car rallye is not a race. It is more like a big board game conducted on public streets, at or below posted speeds, in any street legal vehicle, and under a precise set of rules. All drivers and vehicles must be licensed and insured.

Description: Join us for an introduction to rallying designed to prepare drivers and navigators for participation in Time-Speed-Distance (TSD) Road Rallies. This is the type of rally run throughout PCA Zone 8 and at Porsche Parades.
We’ll begin with a classroom session for an hour or so followed by a short practice rally. We will end up at Max’s Restaurant in Santa Barbara for lunch and a critique. Participants will need note-taking materials and a watch that can be synchronized with a master timepiece.
All participants must pre-register – contact Joe Schneider at autohaus@silcom.com Event cost only $5.00 per team.

Description: The PCA/Santa Barbara Region is proud to announce its ZONE 8 SCHOOL FOR AUTOCROSS BEGINNERS Saturday, April 17, 2010, 10:00 a.m. at the Camarillo Airport.
Autocrossing is an exciting, heart-pounding adventure on a marked course. You race against the clock as you challenge your driving skills and handling abilities. It’s a safe way of pushing yourself and your Porsche in a controlled environment.
At the school you will learn how to read the course and refine your driving techniques to maximize the Porsche experience. You will be given safety instructions and you’ll be accompanied by an autocross veteran instructor on trial runs. This one- on-one tutorial will be invaluable for your full enjoyment of the track event.
You must bring along a qualified helmet. Please review the PCA Zone 8 website autocross rules for helmet and seatbelt re- quirements http://zone8.pca.org/rules.php You must register prior to March 31, 2010 by submitting the following form. Mail it in with your check payable to PCA/SBR. Cost is $25 per person. A $10 credit will be given if you register for the Autocross event the following day. You must be a PCA member, and only Porsches may participate in the school.

An SCCA Regional Time-Speed-Distance rally written by Rachel Smith. The second in the SMSCC Rally Series of 2009. This rally will be a fun romp and lightly trapped. Come out and enjoy the scenery of Ventura County and the surrounding environment. See the sights and the scenery. Beginners welcome.

Where?

$35 at the Start. $10 off if you mail your entry by before April 25. (see pre-entry form below) If Driver/Navigator are not SCCA members, add $5 for an SCCA Weekend Membership.

Important!
Minors: For a minor to participate, both parents must sign the SCCA Minor Waiver. Each parent’s signature is only valid if the parent signs in the presence of the rally registrar (any SMSCC member), or the parent’s signature is notarized.
